According to new allegations from a informant, Ghislaine Maxwell, currently serving a 20-year prison term for sex-trafficking crimes, is allegedly readying a commutation application for review by the Trump administration.

Special Treatment Alleged at Federal Prison

House Democrats on the judicial oversight panel revealed that a whistleblower provided information indicating the inmate is working on the commutation application. They also stated she has been given preferential conditions at the minimum-security facility in Texas.

Congressman Jamie Raskin, the top Democrat on the House judiciary committee, stated in a official statement that the prison’s warden was “helping” the convict with copying, printing, and sending documents to aid her effort for executive mercy.

Specific details of the “commutation application” remain unknown, the congressman noted.

Alleged Privileges and Custom Arrangements

The representative claims that, according to the whistleblower, Maxwell has been given specially prepared food that are “personally delivered” to her cell, and the warden has “personally arranged” private meetings for her and her guests.

These meetings reportedly involve a designated private space for attendees and a variety of food and drinks for her associates.

Maxwell’s visitors were also allowed to bring computers, which the congressman characterized as an exceptional measure given the security risk and chance of unmonitored communications.

In one alleged instance, when phone lines went down for other inmates, she was provided directions about who she should tell her associates to call and how staff would connect the communication to her.

Supervisor Acting as Assistant

The whistleblower further reportedly told congressional members that when Maxwell wanted to review and edit documents “quickly”, she “essentially used” the warden as her “personal secretary and administrative assistant”.

The news release indicates that those writing to her would send files directly to the supervisor, who would provide them to Maxwell, who would review and edit them and return them to the warden to digitize and send to the original sender.

Additional Privileges Alleged

Other privileges allegedly granted to her include opportunities to interact with a service dog puppy – a perk not “ordinarily allowed” – as well as private after-hours access to the facility's gym.

Maxwell’s attorney did not immediately respond to a request for comment regarding the whistleblower’s claims.

In a statement, the presidential office said that it “will not discuss” on possible pardon appeals.

“As President Trump has stated, granting clemency to the convict is not something he has thought about,” the representative added.

Recent Background

Over the weekend, it was reported that she told friends and family in emails from prison that she was more content at the Texas facility than her former location.

This past summer, she was moved from a low-security prison in Florida's capital to the minimum-security camp in Texas, where most inmates are incarcerated for financial and non-violent crimes.

This move, which authorities called as exceptional, occurred just shortly following she was questioned about the Epstein case by the senior justice official, Todd Blanche, who also previously served as Donald Trump's private attorney.

That interview came as the administration was facing increasing scrutiny to disclose additional files related to the ongoing probe and amid intense speculation around the President's own connections to the fallen billionaire and adjudicated criminal, who was found dead in a New York jail in 2019 while awaiting prosecution on sex-trafficking charges.

Lawmaker Reactions

Through the statement, Raskin also announced that he had dispatched a communication to Trump, demanding answers about the insider's claims, and called on the president to reject the clemency appeal.

“You should not grant any type of pardon to this adjudicated and remorseless sex offender,” the representative stated in the document. “The government must not offer her with room service, with puppies to play with, with federal law enforcement officials waiting on her every need, or with any preferential handling or institutional privilege at all.”

The congressman asked that Blanche appear for a public congressional hearing to address the disclosures and also presented several inquiries to Trump.

Raskin asked whether Trump had discussed a possible clemency for the convict with the official or others, whether he had instructed him or anyone else to arrange Maxwell with the move or special conditions in detention, and whether Maxwell, her lawyers, relatives or agents have made any commitments to the President or his legal team.

The representative requested for a response to the inquiries by the specified date.

Last month, the US supreme court rejected an petition from the convict on her sex-trafficking conviction.
